WELT C-Labs

Samsung today announced that it will be demonstrating three products from its secret Creative Lab (C-Lab) for the first time at CES next month.

The C-Lab is an “innovation program” at Samsung where employees can work on developing their own ideas. The lab was founded by Samsung in 2012 and has given birth to more than 100 projects. Out of these, 70 projects have already been completed while an additional 40 are under development to be ready for consumers.

TipTalk CLabs

The three products that the company will be showcasing at CES 2016 are WELT – a healthcare belt that tracks your waist size, calories burnt and how long you sit to an app specifically designed for it; rink – a hand-motion controller for mobile VR devices; and TipTalk that allows one to listen to sounds from their smart devices by simply touching their finger to their ear.

Of the three products, TipTalk is definitely is the most intriguing one. Designed like a watch strap, ‘TipTalk’ can be used in conjunction with watches — analog or digital — and smartphones for TTS (Text-to-Speech) functionality.
