The Galaxy S4 has been a runaway hit for the Korean company. Within the first month of its launch, the company sold in excess of 5 millions units, and shipped more than 20 million units in the first two months.

Now, Samsung’s CEO JK Shin has stated that the company has managed to sell more than 40 million units of the Galaxy S4 since it was launched back in early April. Samsung has managed to sell more units of the Galaxy S4 in 6 months, than what HTC and Sony manage to ship in one financial year.

The sale of the handset has dipped recently because of the new flagships being released from other OEMs and the launch of the company’s own Galaxy Note 3. However, with the holiday season approaching, Samsung is very well on track to sell more than 50 million units of the Galaxy S4 before the year ends.
