According to “industry data,” Samsung sold over 100,000 units of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge combined in South Korea in the first two days of them being available in the market.
The data indicates that Samsung sold 60,000 units of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge on Friday and another 40,000 units on Saturday in the South Korean market. This is apparently on par with the demand for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, when they launched last year.
Samsung said that sales on Saturday for its new flagship handsets were pretty well, despite it being a “slow day.”
Overall, the Galaxy S7 edge accounted for nearly 40 percent of the total sales, which once again suggests that more consumers are interested in the edge variant of Samsung’s flagship handset despite its higher price.
The next few weeks will be crucial for Samsung and will decide the fate of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. The first batch of reviews of the handsets released last week and were overall positive, though most reviewers did point to Samsung’s poor software as one of its weakest points. However, almost all reviewers called the Galaxy S7 and its edge sibling as the best Android smartphone to own in the market right now.
Have you purchased a Galaxy S7 or S7 edge yet? If yes, how was your experience been with it so far?
