Flip phones might not be the go-to device for most manufacturers these days, but Samsung hasn’t given up on them by any means.
The company has launched Android-based flip phones in the past, and now they are back at it again with a brand new option, albeit one without a catchy name. The SM-G9298 is now official, just in China, and it packs some pretty impressive specifications for a flip phone in 2017. That starts with a pair of Super AMOLED displays, one internal and one external, that both measure in at 4.2 inches and boast 1080p HD resolution.
Otherwise, you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of built-in storage. There is also a microSD card slot, and the battery measures in at 2300mAh. Meanwhile, the camera on the back is 12 megapixels, and the camera on the front is a 5MP shooter. It also supports wireless charging.
The SM-G9298 will be available in China on China Mobile, and there’s no word on if it will ever launch in other markets. There’s no word on pricing just yet, either.
What do you think of the SM-G9298? Would you pick one up?
