SamsungGalaxyNote9 Unpacked

Rumors pointed to Samsung hosting an event earlier than normal before the end of 2018, and, sure enough, the company has just confirmed as much.

On Wednesday, Samsung sent out press invitations for an Unpacked event it will be hosting in New York City on Thursday, August 9. The teaser is pretty nondescript in the grand scheme of things, including text that confirms we’ll be seeing a new Galaxy-branded smartphone at the very least. Otherwise, there isn’t much to go on here.

We can see a yellow object at the foreground of the image, though, and what appears to be a power button right there in the center. Or perhaps that’s a Bixby button. Either way, there isn’t much to go on, so speculation is free to run rampant.

Samsung is hosting this Unpacked event a bit earlier than it normally does, and suggests we could see whatever new device the company announces sooner than normal, too. As far as what that might be, the safe bet at this point is that we’ll be seeing the Galaxy Note 9 get plenty of time on stage at the event. Word is that we may also see the Galaxy Tab S4, the company’s newest flagship tablet, see the light of day on the same date.

So, mark August 9 on the calendars. Are you fired up for the Galaxy Note 9?
