A report from Korea Herald claims that Samsung will be dedicating more of its marketing prowess to promote the Galaxy S6 edge Plus over the Galaxy Note 5.

Both upcoming devices from the Korean company are expected to be unveiled on August 12 next month.

The report claims that Samsung will be rolling out the Galaxy S6 edge Plus across all the international markets, with the Galaxy Note 5 seeing a limited launch in markets where it has traditionally fared well like the United States and South Korea.

A Samsung Official was quoted by a Korean news Outlet as saying: “Samsung has almost finalized the talks with global Mobile carriers to Release the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, but the Launch of the Galaxy Note 5 has not yet been decided.”

Samsung is taking this decision to make sure that its products don’t end up cannibalizing sales of each other. The company feels that the launch of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge alongside each other ended up eating the market share of both handsets.

Samsung has usually unveiled its new flagship products for the second half of the year at IFA, but the company has reportedly bought forward the launch of the devices this year to counteract the tough competition from the upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen and as leaks have revealed, a design that similar to that of the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S6 edge Plus, on the other handset, is just a bigger variant of the Galaxy S6 edge with a bigger battery, as well.
