A Samsung’s spokesperson at the Fashion Week in Lincoln Center booth in Manhattan has revealed that the company’s first virtual reality headset — the Gear VR Innovator edition — will come with a mere price tag of $199.

Now, before you get too excited, keep in mind that you will still need to purchase or get your hands on a Galaxy Note 4, which acts as a screen for the GearVR.

This means that ultimately you will end up shelling somewhere around $1000 to get your hands on a fully functional virtual reality headset.

The Gear VR was unveiled along with the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge at IFA in Berlin a couple of days ago. While the company had announced the release date of its latest phablets at the event, it is yet to reveal a concrete or even vague release date for the Gear VR.
