Samsung today launched three new 4G enabled budget smartphones for the Indian market. All the three handsets — the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G, Galaxy Core Prime 4G and the Galaxy J1 4G — unveiled by the company today are slightly modified variants of its existing offerings.
The Galaxy J1 4G is the cheapest and smallest of the bunch and comes with a 4-inch WVGA display, 768MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 5MP camera on the front and back, and a 1,850mAh battery. Next in line is the Galaxy Core Prime 4G that features a 4.5-inch WVGA display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, 5MP front and rear shooters, and a 2,000mAh battery.
The Galaxy Grand Prime 4G is the biggest of the bunch and comes with a 5-inch qHD display, 1GB RAM, 8GB of storage space, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front shooter and a 2,600mAh battery. All the handsets announced by Samsung today are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 processor and are running on Android 4.4 KitKat. They also offer LTE and dual-SIM functionality.
While the Galaxy J1 will be available in Blue, Black and White colors, the Galaxy Core Prime 4G will be available in White, Silver and Charcoal Grey. On the other hand, the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G will only be available in White and Grey colors.
The handsets will start making their way to the Indian retail stores from mid-March with a starting price of Rs. 9, 990.
