Samsung has long been criticized for the poor design and build quality of its devices. The company improved the latter dramatically by switching to a metal mid-frame on its recent devices, including the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Alpha.

However, in the looks department, Samsung’s offerings still don’t hold a candle against the likes of the HTC One, LG G3 and the iPhone 6. Now, it looks like the Korean company is finally ready to pay attention to the design of its products as it has hired Lee Don-tae, the co-CEO of Tangerine, a design firm that was founded by Apple’s Jony Ive.

According to the report from the Korea Herald, Lee has already started working as the global Vice President and head of Samsung’s Design Management Center since January. The Design Management Center was founded by the Korean company in 2001 and plays a key role in designing all its products, including smartphones, televisions and tablets.

Lee has worked as a consultant with companies like LG, Toyota and even Samsung, and is best known for his “z-shaped” redesign of British Airways business-class cabin, which allowed the company to install more seats and further boost its profits.
