Late last month, Samsung announced a new tablet called the Galaxy Tab 3. I guess it’s an OK product, but the specs just aren’t for me. You’re looking at a 7 inch 1024 x 600 pixel panel, dual core 1.2 GHz processor, 3 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, and optional 3G.
Today, courtesy of SamMobile, there’s news that the company will launch a more powerful 8 inch variant that’ll appropriately be called the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. Its larger screen will push 1280 × 800 pixels, it’ll have a faster 1.5 GHz dual core processor, and the rear facing camera gets updated to 5 megapixels.
I’m actually kind of disappointed in this rumor since I was expecting the Tab 8.0 to be something far more impressive. There were stories floating around the internest a few weeks ago saying Samsung was working on an 8 inch 1080p AMOLED tablet. This Tab 8.0 is obviously not that. Still, the year is quite young, and we all know Samsung loves to release a million different devices, seemingly spanning every size range between 2 inches and 11 inches.
