With the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 launch behind it, Samsung is presumably hard at work on the Galaxy S9 — its flagship handset for 2018. A leak surrounding the handset details that Samsung will possibly be including a new wireless AKG headset with the device.

Samsung already includes “tuned by AKG” earphones with the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 but they are wired buds which have been widely praised for their decent audio quality. Bluetooth earphones are usually on the expensive side so if Samsung does end up bundling them with the Galaxy S9, it would end up pleasing a lot of customers. It is possible that Samsung could include the wireless AKG earbuds as a pre-order bonus for early Galaxy S9 customers just like it did with the fast wireless charger for the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 this year.

Thankfully, the inclusion of wireless Bluetooth earbuds does not mean that Samsung will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Galaxy S9. The tipster says that the Korean company has no plans of ditching the headphone jack from the S9. This does contradict previous reports which claimed that the headphone jack would be missing from Samsung’s next flagship device. The tipster also says that Samsung will be using a new BBAR (Broadband Anti-Reflection) anti-glare coating for the rear camera of the handset to reduce glaring and ghosting which should possibly help in low-light scenarios and while taking HDR photos.

Samsung is rumoured to release the Galaxy S9 earlier than usual next year. While the Galaxy S8 was unveiled a few weeks after MWC 2017, the Galaxy S9 might possibly be released before MWC next year.
