The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are a pair of 2018’s highly anticipated devices, with at least one key change that should elevate the design above its predecessors, and clamp down on previous complaints.

We’re expecting Samsung to announce the two new flagship smartphones in February, and the handsets even went through the FCC recently, suggesting that early arrival could indeed pan out. And now, thanks to a user over on the Chinese social network Weibo, we’ve got a rumored first look at both handsets out in the wild.

The hands-on photo has both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ lying face down, so we can only see the backsides of each handset. We can see that the devices, if real, do indeed move the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. Previously, Samsung positioned the biometric security measure to the side of the camera housing, which has been panned for poor placement.

That looks like it will be changing, though, moving below the camera setup, which should make it a bit easier to reach. The hands-on image also apparently confirms that the Galaxy S9 (pictured on the left) will have a single camera on the back, but the Galaxy S9+ (pictured on the right) will boast a pair of cameras. That certainly lines up with previous rumors.

Otherwise, we can see the handsets will still feature a glass design to facilitate wireless charging support.

It sounds like Samsung is going to show off the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in some fashion at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January, too, but it’s not likely there will be a lot of information to share at that time if the company wants a big unveiling in February. Still, if you’re excited about Samsung’s new flagship, you don’t have long to wait before the handset(s) get official.
