Samsung Galaxy S8 leak 7

In a couple of days from now, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S8 and S8+ in New York. However, a massive leak surrounding the handset over the weekend has revealed almost everything about Samsung’s latest flagship.

The leak comes courtesy of WinFuture that has posted some high-resolution press renders of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ while also revealing some key details about the device.

The leak confirms that while the 12MP shooter of the Galaxy S8 will be similar to what is found on the Galaxy S7/edge, Samsung will be including a laser autofocus sensor for a faster and more reliable autofocus performance. The front camera of the device is also receiving a major update and will now sport an 8MP sensor with a f/1.7 aperture. Sitting beside the selfie camera will be an “ultra-sensitive” iris scanner.

The front of both phones will be dominated by a 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch displays with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and a resolution of 2960 x 1440. Other specs of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ includes 64GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, USB-C port, and 4GB RAM. The European version of the handset will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8895 chipset clocked at 2.5GHz, while the US version will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. Interestingly, both phones will also feature stereo speakers.

As for their battery capacity, the Galaxy S8 will sport a 3000mAh battery while the Galaxy S8 Plus will come with a 3500mAh battery. The handsets will be available in Black, Orchid Gray, Silver, Gold, and Blue colors. Samsung will also sell a DeX station accessory with the handsets that will feature active cooling and USB ports to convert the handset into a full blown PC.

In terms of pricing, the Galaxy S8 will be priced at 799 euros, while the Galaxy S8 Plus will be priced at 899 euros. To sweeten the deal, Samsung will be offering ‘Guard S8’ protection program with the handset under which owners of the handset will be eligible for a free one-time screen replacement and free remote support.
