Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S8, has leaked numerous times this week alone. The leaked photos have revealed almost everything about the device and its bezel-less design. Now, a new photo shared by @Onleaks compares the dimensions of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ to other existing smartphones in the market.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ will come with a 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch QHD+ display that will be curved on its edges and feature very minimum bezels at the top and bottom.
Despite coming with a 5.8-inch display which clearly puts it into the phablet category, the Galaxy S8 is quite a bit smaller than the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 which featured a 5.7-inch curved display. Compared to Google’s Pixel handsets, the difference is even bigger. The Galaxy S8 is just a wee bit taller than the Google Pixel which comes with a 5-inch display.
Impressively enough, the Galaxy S8 is also smaller in dimension than the LG G6 which also features an almost bezel-less design with a 5.7-inch QHD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display.
As for the Galaxy S8+, it is bigger than all other handsets out there thanks to its 6.2-inch display but just by few millimetres. (https://cityoflightpublishing.com/) The Galaxy S8+ is 159mm tall, while the iPhone 7 Plus with its 5.5-inch display is 158.20mm tall.
The bezel-less design should help make the Galaxy S8 usable with one hand despite coming with a huge display.
What do you think about the Galaxy S8’s compact design based on the comparisons above? Are you excited about its launch? If yes, makes sure to check our website on March 29 when Samsung officially unveils the handset.
