Following the launch of a 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant of the Galaxy S8+ in Hong Kong and China, Samsung is now bringing the handset to India. The new flagship variant of the handset will go on sale in the country from June 9.
The 6GB RAM/128GB variant of the Galaxy S8+ is only available in Midnight Black color option for Rs 74,900. Pre-orders for the handset start from June 2 on Flipkart and Samsung’s retail stores. As a pre-booking offer, Samsung is offering a free fast wireless charger with the handset worth Rs 4,499.
For comparison, Samsung sells the normal Galaxy S8+ variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage in India for Rs 64,900.
The additional RAM on this premium Galaxy S8+ variant should come in handy in very limited scenarios. The additional storage will be welcomed by those people who want to use two SIM cards on the handset while still being able to carry around all their media files and other important documents with them.
Samsung dominates the high-end smartphone market in India alongside Apple. The launch of the Galaxy S8 has helped the company woo a lot of potential iPhone customers thanks to the handset’s bezel-less design. Thus, it looks like the company is trying to cash in on that advantage by launching the more premium 6GB/128GB edition of the handset in the country.
