Samsung seems all set to start a public beta testing of the Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in the United Kingdom and the United States. An FAQ document from Samsung’s website details how the Galaxy beta program for the upcoming Nougat update for the S7 and S7 edge will work.
Most importantly, the document reveals that the Nougat beta update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be available from 9th November and last until the middle of December. Carriers who will be participating in the beta program include Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon, with only AT&T giving the beta program a miss.
The FAQ document also details how one can take part in the Galaxy beta program, which involves downloading the Galaxy Beta Program application from the Galaxy Apps store and registering through the app for the Nougat beta program.
Since the beta program will be running until mid-December, it is likely that we will see Samsung roll out Nougat publicly for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge around the same time. It is likely that the Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 will introduce the new Touchwiz UI that Samsung first debuted with the Galaxy Note 7. The new ‘Grace UX’ found on the Note 7 looked more mature and grown up compared to the existing version of Touchwiz found on the S7.
