The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has already leaked in pictures before, but today, a high resolution press render of the handset has leaked giving us the clearest look at it yet.
IThe Galaxy S6 Active will be ditching the beautiful and premium design and build quality of its flagship sibling to achieve its ruggedness. It also sacrifices the capacitive touch buttons for physical rubber buttons — probably to help in waterproofing the device.
In addition to the press render, Samsung’s official website has outed the complete specs of the handset as well. Internally, the S6 Active is going to be exactly the same as the S6 and S6 edge, which means we are looking at a 5.1-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, an Octa-core 64-bit chipset, 32GB of internal storage space, a 16MP rear camera with OIS, 5MP front shooter and a 2550mAh battery. The only notable difference is that the Galaxy S6 Active lacks a fingerprint scanner, and might just come with a microSD card slot.
With the Galaxy S6 Active making an appearance on Samsung’s website, it is likely that the announcement of the handset is imminent. Like previous Active handsets from Samsung, the Galaxy S6 Active will be making its way only to AT&T in the United States.
Will you be buying the Galaxy S6 Active over its prettier sibling — the Galaxy S6 or S6 edge?
