The Galaxy S6 might not be the latest and greatest Android smartphone on the block anymore, but Amazon is giving prospective consumers a good reason to buy the handset today by slashing the price of the unlocked 32GB variant by a whopping $200.
The S6 is Amazon’s deal of the day, and can be purchased for only $399.99. That’s a very attractive price for what is still a top-notch smartphone, one that saw Samsung make the long overdue transition to making truly premium flagship devices. Only the black color option is part of the deal, and since it’s an unlocked model, it will only work with T-Mobile and AT&T’s 4G LTE networks. Amazon is also offering a discount on Samsung’s wireless charger, which is available for $23.99 instead of $99.99 for the entire day.
The Galaxy S6 features a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, an octa-core Exynos 7420 CPU, 3GB of RAM, and a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization. There’s a 5-megapixel camera on the front, and a 2,550 mAh battery under the hood with fast and wireless charging support. The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Samsung’s TouchWiz UX on top, and it should be among the first Samsung handsets to get an upgrade to Android Marshmallow.
