Up until now, details about Samsung’s Galaxy S5 has been pretty sparse except for the fact that it would be unveiled at an event in London to be held sometime in March. Today, the folks over at SamMobile have managed to get some information about the Galaxy S5 specifications along with that of the Galaxy S5 mini and Zoom.

According to SamMobile’s insider, the Galaxy S5 will come in two versions — one made of plastic and the other one made of metal. The plastic version will cost around 650 Euros with the metal variant costing around 800 Euros. If a recent rumor is to be believed, the metal version will sport a metallic backplate with the sides being constructed of metal as well.

The display on the Galaxy S5 will once again be Super-AMOLED sporting an eye-popping resolution of 2560*1440. While the size of the display is not yet known, rumors indicate it to be around 5.25-inches. The camera has been confirmed to be 16MP but it is not yet known whether it will sport OIS or not.

Internally, the Galaxy S5 will be among the first devices to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. As always, Samsung will also release a variant of the S5 with its own in-house chip — the Exynos 6. It is not yet known if the Exynos 6 chip will be 64-bit in nature or not.

The handset will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, which really should not come as a surprise. Other specs about the device including the amount of RAM and battery capacity are not yet known.

SamMobile’s insider also confirmed that the company is also working on the Galaxy S5 mini and S5 Zoom and plans to launch these devices  a couple of month after the S5 is launched.

Samsung is known to test multiple prototypes of its devices before launch, so I’d personally take the above specs with a bit of salt. What do you think about the above specs? Will you buy the metal version of Galaxy S5 for a premium, if Samsung does release one?
