On January 7, 2015, it was revealed that Motorola’s Moto G Google Play edition handset had been removed from the Google Play store’s digital shelves. Turns out, that wouldn’t be the last device to get excised.

As revealed by Android Police, Samsung’s own Galaxy S4 Google Play edition smartphone has now been removed rom the Google Play store as well, with Google officially listed it as “no longer available for sale.” While the official removal of the device does seem to be a long time coming, considering the device has been listed as “out of stock” for quite some time, the timing is certainly interesting. At this stage, the last Google Play edition handset is the HTC One (M8), as officially listed from Google.

As of the time of this writing, the One (M8) is available for purchase.
