Samsung’s upcoming flagships, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus, have passed through the FCC revealing some of the new features that they are going to pack. The regulatory filings confirm that all the three different Galaxy S10 variants are going to support the new Wi-Fi 6 standard.

Don’t get too excited about Wi-Fi 6 support though as one will also need to have access to a Wi-Fi 6 router to take advantage of the higher bandwidth on offer here. Given that Wi-Fi 6 is still relatively new, the chances of anyone owning a Wi-Fi 6 router is pretty much nil. While not mentioned, a 5G variant of the Galaxy S10 is also scheduled to launch a month or two after the regular 4G variant.

Apart from Wi-Fi 6, Samsung is also borrowing a feature from Huawei’s playbook. The Galaxy S10 and S10+ are going to come with 9W reverse wireless charging. Yep, as the name suggests, you will be able to use your Galaxy S10 to wirelessly reverse charge any other device that supports Qi wireless charging. This can be a smartphone like the iPhone X or iPhone XS or your wireless earbuds.

Given that the Galaxy S10 series is going to be Samsung’s flagship phone for 2019, it is not surprising to see the Korean company go all out and include almost every possible tech possible in the devices.

Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy S10 E, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10 Plus at an Unpacked event on February 20. The Korean company is also expected to showcase its foldable phone at the event.
