Prolific leaker @evleaks reports that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be the company’s most expensive smartphone yet with a price tag of €999 While there were reports of Samsung launching the Note 8 in August, today’s report claims it will be launching in the second half of September.

While the Galaxy Note 8 will make use of the same Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 chipset as found inside the Galaxy S8, it will be including 6GB of RAM on the handset. Additionally, the handset will come with a dual-camera setup at the rear featuring two 12MP sensors. The camera sensors will be arranged horizontally and make use of two 12MP sensors featuring OIS.  The handset will make use of a 6.3-inch QHD+ Infinity display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

Since the in-display fingerprint scanner will not be ready by the time the Galaxy Note 8 will be released, Samsung has decided to go ahead and place the fingerprint scanner right beside the camera setup — just like it has done with the Galaxy S8. Despite the poor fingerprint scanner position on the S8 getting panned by everyone, Samsung in all its wiseness has still decided to stick to a similar placement on the Note 8.

On the software front, Samsung will be further refining its UI to make multitasking easier and better on the Note 8. It will also improve S Pen by adding currency conversion and language translation capabilities to it. Other features that were found on the Galaxy S8 like DeX support, iris scanner, microSD card slot, and facial scanner will also be present on the handset. Lastly, the Note 8 will come with a 3300mAh battery which is slightly on the lower end for a phone with such internals.

The €999 European price tag means the unlocked Galaxy Note 8 will cost around $900+ in the United States. It will be available in black, blue, and gold colors at launch.
