Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Last year, in a hurry to quickly bring the Galaxy Note 7 to the market, Samsung ended up using faulty batteries on it. After a huge hit in its goodwill, the company made a strong comeback this year with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Now, riding high on the success of its newest flagship, Samsung is once again planning on launching the Galaxy Note 8 earlier than usual. Instead of a September launch, Samsung now plans on launching the Galaxy Note in August. The company wants to launch its flagship phablet earlier than usual so as to one-up Apple which will be launching the iPhone 8 in September this year.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy S8 in March this year instead of its usual timeframe of February due to the additional testing and quality control the handset went through. The Galaxy Note 8 will also end up going through the same eight-point safety check devised by Samsung, but since the handset will likely end up sharing most of the components with the Galaxy S8, the Korean company will be able to speed up the process greatly.

The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to come with a 6.3-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 836 chipset, a dual-camera setup at the rear, and 4/6GB RAM. Samsung was initially rumored to embed the fingerprint scanner into the display of the Galaxy Note 8, but a source from within the company recently confirmed that due to technical issues, the company has had to push back the plan. This will be a huge blow to Samsung as Apple is rumored to embed the fingerprint scanner into the display of the iPhone 8, which will also come with a bezel-less design.
