Samsung’s next flagship phablet — the Galaxy Note 8 — is still a few months away from launch. That has not stopped the handset’s factory renders from leaking to the internet though.
Like with previous Note handsets, the Galaxy Note 8 has a design language that is similar to the Galaxy S8. This means it comes with an Infinity Display at the front with narrow top and bottom bezels and a curved screen. This also means we are looking at a phone with glass front and back and a metallic chassis sitting in between it. The bottom of the Note 8 has a slot for the S-Pen similar to its location on the Note 5.
The renders also show the dual camera setup at the rear of the device, and disappointingly, a fingerprint scanner located beside them. Considering how much criticism Samsung received for the odd placement of the fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S8, it is disappointing to see the company go ahead with a similar placement on the Note 8. The factory CAD of the handset suggests it will be 8.4mm thin with dimensions of 162.4 x 74.5mm.
Rumors point to the Galaxy Note 8 coming with a 6.3-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895 chipset, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, dual 12MP rear shooters with OIS, and a 3300mAh battery with fast charging support. While initial reports had pointed to Samsung launching the Galaxy Note 8 in August, a recent report from a more reliable source points to a September launch.
