A report from earlier this week indicated that the Galaxy Note 7 has received twice the amount of pre-order over the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in South Korea. Now, Samsung Canada’s chief media officer Mark Childs has confirmed that the pre-orders for Samsung’s upcoming Note has been “outstanding” in Canada as well.
The executive also reveals that there is a “significant demand” for the new Blue Color variant of the Galaxy Note 7.
“The overwhelming response has been positive in terms of reaction to the device by everybody from a review perspective, but also from Canadians. We are already seeing a huge response in the pre-orders that went live just after Unpacked and certainly surpassing our expectations as we head into the official launch next Friday,” continued Childs.
Unlike the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge though which were powered by an Exynos 8890 chipset, the Galaxy Note 7 in Canada will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset. While both chipsets offer similar performance, the Exynos chipset has been proved to offer significantly better battery life. This has disappointed a lot of Canadian customers who had pre-ordered the handset thinking it was powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 chipset.
Nonetheless, it looks like with the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has another winner on its hands. What do you think? Have you pre-ordered the Galaxy Note 7 yet?
