Following the discontinuation of the Galaxy Note 7, and another global recall, another nail has been buried into the coffin of the flagship phablet.
Bloomberg reported earlier today that the Galaxy Note 7 would, based on information obtained by the publication from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), be banned from all flights in the United States.
And, sure enough, the FAA has officially announced the ban. The ban takes effect at 12:00pm ET on October 15, and it means that no one is allowed to bring a Galaxy Note 7 onto any aircraft — even if it’s turned off.
Many reports regarding the Galaxy Note 7 catching fire included devices that were turned off, so this ban, even with units turned off, is no surprise at all.
