Samsung-Galaxy-Note7-Bleu

With less than 5 days left for Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Note 7, @Onleaks has now posted the complete specifications and feature set of the handset. The Note 7 will be based on the Galaxy S7 edge, though it will sport a slightly larger 5.7-inch curved Super AMOLED display and a S Pen.

As we already know and Samsung has teased, the Note 7 will also feature a water-resistant design and come with a completely redesigned S Pen that will also be waterproof and apparently work under water. It will now feature 4096 pressure points with a latency of less than 50ms. The device will be 7.9mm thick and weigh in at 168g.

The key internal specs of the Note 7 remain the same as the Galaxy S7 edge. This includes an octa-core Exynos chipset clocked at 2.3GHz, 4GB RAM, microSD card slot, a 12MP rear shooter with OIS, 1.4u pixels, f/1.7 aperture and Dual Pixel, and a 5MP selfie shooter. Where the Note 7 differs from the Galaxy S7 edge is in terms of storage and battery capacity. The device will come with 64GB of internal storage, and surprisingly, it will only pack a 3500mAh battery. While this is significantly larger than the 3000mAh battery found on the Galaxy Note 5, it is slightly lower than the 3600mAh battery of the Galaxy S7 edge. On top of that, the Note 7 features a slightly larger screen that should lead to additional battery drain.

Samsung will also be including a USB Type-C to microUSB connector with the handset in the box.

New-GearVR

Alongside the Note 7, Onleaks also leaked the new Gear VR that Samsung will be launching with the device at its event on August 2nd. The new Gear VR features largely the same design as the current generation model, but comes with some key improvements. It is slightly larger, features a USB Type-C connector, and has a wider (110-degree) view of angle vs. the 96-degree angle of the existing generation. The new Gear VR will be available in black, and it will also be compatible with the likes of Galaxy S7, S6, and Note 5 using a Type-C to microUSB connector.

It looks like with the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung is not targeting existing Galaxy S7 or S7 edge owners since the device offers little improvements when compared to it. However, with Samsung’s renewed focus on its software, it is possible that we will see the company debut some compelling new features on its upcoming Note.
