Just over a week after its official unveiling, Samsung today unveiled the Galaxy Note 7 in India. The handset has been priced at Rs. 59,900 in the country.

Like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, the Note 7 in India will support dual SIM connectivity. It will be powered by an Exynos 8890 chipset and pack 4GB RAM. Other specs of the device also remain the same as its international sibling. This includes an IP68 water-resistant design, a curved 5.7-inch curved Quad HD AMOLED display, 64GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a new S Pen, and 3500mAh battery. Other notable specs include a microSD card slot, USB Type-C port, a 12MP rear shooter with an f/1.7 aperture and OIS, and a 5MP selfie shooter. It also features an Iris scanner that can be used to unlock the phone, verify Samsung Pay transactions, and for logging in automatically in websites.

Samsung will be selling the Galaxy Note 7 in Black Onyx and Silver Titanium colors in India. Pre-orders for the handset begin from August 22nd, with the device hitting retail stores on September 2nd. Customers who pre-order the Note 7 will be able to buy the new Gear VR from Samsung by only paying Rs. 1,990. The company will also be bundling a free Reliance Jio SIM card with the handset that will offer free unlimited data, voice calls, and SMS for 90 days.

With the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge doing very well for Samsung in India, it is not surprising to see the company launch the Galaxy Note 7 in the country within a month of its global launch. Will you be buying the Galaxy Note 7?
