The Galaxy Note 7 has gone on sale today and to go along with it, Samsung has started rolling out the first software update for the handset. The 96MB update is currently rolling out for the Canadian units of the handset, though it is likely that the handset will receive a similar update in other regions of the world.

Verizon already has a software update scheduled to go live for the Note 7 later today that will apply an important security patch to it.

The official changelog of the OTA update from Samsung does not mention what changes it brings, but it is likely that this launch day update is aimed at fixing some minor bugs and improving the overall stability and performance of the device.
