After updating the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S5 to Marshmallow, Samsung seems to have started seeing the update for the Galaxy Note 4. Many owners of the phablet are reporting that they have received a 1.3GB update on their device that bumps the OS to Android 6.0.1.

The update also contains the April security release, and packs all the bells and whistles introduced by Google in Marshmallow, including Doze and App Standby. For now, the update only seems to be available for the Exynos powered variant (N910C) variant of the phablet, though the update for the Snapdragon 805 powered Note 4 should also start rolling out within the next few weeks.

With the Marshmallow update, Samsung introduced a new system UI theme on the Galaxy S6 and Note 5. The updates also brought major improvements to RAM management and improved standby battery life. It will be interesting to see if Samsung brings over the same set of features to the Galaxy Note 4 as well — its flagship phablet from 2014.
