Apple has always been praised for the build quality of its devices while Samsung has been criticized for it. The latter is known to use cheap plastic as the preferred material for its devices, which lends them a very poor in-hand feel.
However, things have taken a twist for the worst for Apple, as yesterday reports started surfacing on the Internet that the latest iPhones could easily bent in a user’s pocket.
Adding insult to Apple’s injury are the folks from Unbox Therapy who have posted a video of them doing a bend test on the Galaxy Note 3 and the iPhone 6 Plus.
While the iPhone 6 Plus bent and cracked because of the pressure applied to it, the Galaxy Note 3 remained intact with the same, or maybe more, pressure applied to it.
Check out the video below and see for yourself:
While the Galaxy Note 3 did make a lot of creaking noises, it returned to its original shape as soon as the pressure applied on it was removed. What is even more astounding is the fact even the second time around when the Unbox Therapy folks applied a humungous amount of pressure, the phablet retained its original shape.
I guess its time for us to rethink about criticizing Samsung for its poor build quality.
