Samsung UK today announced through Twitter that it will not be updating the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

There has been a lot of confusion on whether Samsung will be updating the Note 2 to Lollipop or not. However, Samsung Denmark had clarified back in May that the Note 2 will indeed be getting the update to Lollipop, but only in certain regions of the world. While it is still not clear in which regions Samsung will be updating the Note 2 to Lollipop, it is now at least known that the United Kingdom is not going to be one of them.

As for the Galaxy S3 not getting Lollipop, this should not really come as a surprise since Samsung only updated certain variants of the handset to KitKat. The handset had launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and was updated through Android 4.4 KitKat (in certain markets) during its lifetime, which is not bad for a flagship handset.

Are you still rocking a Galaxy Note 2? If yes, do you think Samsung not updating the handset to Lollipop in certain regions of the world a bad move?
