Following the success of the Galaxy M10, M20, and M30, Samsung has now launched the Galaxy M40 in India. The new budget handset from India will only be sold online just like other Galaxy M smartphones.

The Galaxy M40 sports a 6.3-inch Infinity-O PLS FHD+ display with a 16MP selfie camera located on the top-left corner. The display is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. There’s no earpiece on the top grille as the phone makes use of the Screen Sound technology — a technology that is also used by Huawei on the P30 Pro.

Inside the Galaxy M40 is Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 675 chip, 6GB RAM, Adreno 612 GPU, and 64GB storage. There’s also a hybrid SIM slot that accepts microSD cards of up to 512GB. Other specs include a 3500mAh battery, 15W fast charging support with a compatible adapter in the box, rear fingerprint scanner, face unlock, Bluetooth 5.0, Dolby Atmos support, and the usual bevy of sensors. The Galaxy M40 lacks a headphone jack, though Samsung does bundle USB-C earphones in the box.

At the rear of the Galaxy M40 is a triple camera setup which includes a 32MP f/1.7 primary shooter, a 5MP f/2.2 depth sensor, and an 8MP 123-degree ultra-wide angle shooter. The camera is capable of recording slow-mo videos at 240fps as well as up to 4K resolution videos at 30fps.

The Galaxy M40 runs on Android 9.0 Pie with Samsung’s excellent OneUI on top of it. The skin offers plenty of useful features and customization options including the ability to record screen, system-wide dark mode, and more.

The 7.9mm slim Galaxy M40 is going to be available in Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue colors. It will be available online on Amazon, Flipkart from June 20th for Rs 19,990.
