It is no secret that Samsung’s recently released smart watch – the Galaxy Gear – was a half-hearted product from the company. Apart from the poor battery life and limited functionality, the device suffers from major compatibility issues.
At the moment, the Galaxy Gear is only compatible with the Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S4s that have been updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Thanks to its compatibility issues, the Galaxy Gear return rate is as high as 30% in the Samsung mini-stores in Best Buy in the United States.
In a bid to reduce the return rates, Samsung is planning on a staged roll-out of the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4, S3 and Note 2 in the United States. The company had announced earlier that it will be adding support for the Galaxy Gear with the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S3 and Note 2.
A leaked image suggests that Samsung will start the roll-out f0r Note 2, S4 and S3 in the United States in mid-November and aims to complete it by the 1st week of December.
