When Samsung initially unveiled their metal-wrapped Galaxy Alpha a little more than a week ago, they confirmed that the device would go on sale beginning in September, but there were little details actually provided. For anyone who has been waiting to get their hands on the device, and would like to preorder it, if you happen to live in the United Kingdom, your time has almost arrived.
Samsung announced on August 22 that their 4.7-inch metal darling device would go up for preorder beginning August 28 in the United Kingdom. If you want to preorder it, you’ll be able to do so through Samsung’s own websites or stores, or through select device retailers, like Carphone Warehouse, beginning on that date. Samsung has also confirmed that the handset will officially go on sale at Samsung Experience stores and at the Samsung Store at Westfield Stratford City, beginning September 10. If you prefer to wait for it to land at another retailer in the region, you’ll have to wait until September 12.
The Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, with a Samsung Exynos Octa-core processor under the hood, with four cores clocked at 1.8GHz, and the other four clocked at 1.3GHz. It will ship with 32GB of built-in storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1MP front-facing shooter. There’s 2GB of RAM, with a battery measured in at 1860mAh, fingerprint and heart rate sensors, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
