The Galaxy Alpha was probably never going to escape a teardown treatment, thanks to the fact it offers a metal band around the edge of the device, and iFixit was more than capable to get the job done.

They recently published their findings on their site, and iFixit has officially given the Galaxy Alpha, with its metal band, a repairability score of 5 out of 10. That means that it isn’t impossible to repair yourself if you need to, but they did point out the copious amounts of glue holding the thin display home that could give some issues for anyone needing a quick fix.

The rest of the teardown didn’t reveal much else all too exciting, other than that while Samsung was able to design the device in a compact way, with everything tightly-knit, they still managed to offer a removable battery. Of course, that perhaps came at the sacrifice of a microSD card slot, but with the 32GB of built-in storage on offer, that might not be such a deal breaker.
