Samsung GalaxyA9 official

Many phones have a selling point, something to grab a potential buyer’s attention. The Galaxy A9 tries to do that with a lot of cameras.

While the Galaxy A9 isn’t the first smartphone with five cameras, it is the first smartphone with four cameras on the back. They are aligned in a vertical layout, just as the rumors had suggested. The primary camera is a 24-megapixel shooter with an f/1.7 aperture. The second camera is the 8MP wide-angle lens, while the Galaxy A9 also boasts a 5MP depth camera. Finally, there is the 10-megapixel telephoto lens that features 2x optical zoom. There is a 24-megapixel front-facing camera.

The new handset features a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2220×1080. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor under the hood, with two variants to choose from: one with 6GB of RAM and the other with 8GB of RAM. Both models will feature 128GB of built-in storage, and the handset supports a microSD card slot for expandable storage. Finally, the Galaxy A9 has Android 8.0 Oreo on board.

The Galaxy A9 will launch in November in specific markets, and be available in Lemonade Blue, Caviar Black, and Bubblegum Pink. No word on pricing just yet.

So who’s making the first smartphone with four rear cameras their new daily driver?
