Note 7 explosion

Samsung has surprisingly been very transparent about the whole incident regarding batteries inside the Galaxy Note 7 exploding. Right from the get-go, the company has made announcements to keep all Note 7 customers in the loop.

While the Korean company has not revealed the exact battery vendor that ended up supplying it faulty batteries for the Note 7, it has at least provided details on what exactly is wrong with the faulty batteries. In a statement published on the company’s UK website, the company says that the issue is with the battery cell. More specifically, an “overheating of the battery cell occurred when the anode-to-cathode came into contact which is a very rare manufacturing process error.”

Samsung should have ideally identified the faulty batteries while testing the Galaxy Note 7, but perhaps in its hurry to bring the handset early to market, it did not. However, the company has done everything in its power to make the situation right. Not only has it issued a worldwide recall of the handset, it is also actively in touch with customers whose Note 7 units exploded. The situation has gone from bad to worse for the company as earlier this week, an exploding Galaxy Note 7 led to a family’s car being totaled. And the handset has now also been banned from being charged or used on planes.
