Samsung today announced that it has managed to replace “about half of all recalled Galaxy Note7” units it had sold in the United States so far. The company had reportedly sold around 1 million units of the Galaxy Note 7 in the country before it issued a recall and stopped the sales of the device.
This means that Samsung has replaced 500,000 faulty Note 7 units in the United States for now, with another 500,000 units or so still remaining. The company also mentioned in its press release that 90 percent of Galaxy Note 7 owners opted for a replacement device instead of opting for a refund or buying another device, which considering the fiasco is pretty impressive.
Samsung started handing out replacement Note 7 units in the United States from September 21st, so in a short time, the company has made a lot of progress. The company had brought in 500,000 replacement units to the United States this week, so it is likely that Note 7 owners who have not yet received their replacement unit yet will have to wait for the company to bring in fresh stock.
In Canada, Samsung has already replaced around 70 percent of the Note 7 units that it had sold.
Samsung is running replacement programs for the Galaxy Note 7 in all the countries where the device had gone on sale before defective batteries forced the company to issue a recall. If you have not already, make sure to go ahead and get your Note 7 replaced from Samsung right away.
