Samsung is going to come out with a Galaxy S4 this year that’s powered by Qualcomm’s newest chip, the Snapdragon 800. Right now there aren’t any Snapdragon 800 phones out on the market, but that’s definitely going to change by the time Q4 rolls around. Rumor has it the Note III will use the Snapdragon 800, HTC’s One Max will use it, and so will LG’s Optimus G2.
But enough about that, let’s focus on the SHV-E330S. That’s the model number of a phone that just got WiFi certified (PDF link). Just two days ago we saw the same device get DLNA certified, so two certifications in the span of two days is just more proof that this thing is indeed real.
And better yet, the SHV-E330S has appeared on the benchmarking site AnTuTu. It scored 31,491. To put that into some perspective, the fastest phone on AnTuTu as of the publication of this article is the Exynos 5 Octa packing Samsung Galaxy S4. That thing actually scores a little less, at just 31,127.
Will this Snapdragon 800 S4 ever leave Korea? I hightly doubt it. But then again, assuming this unicorn hits the market either in September or October, that means the S5 will be just half a year away. And you know the S5 is going to be even faster than the S4.
