Samsung Galaxy On5 series was revealed last year, and now this budget line-up has a 2016 model to replace the old one. India’s import and export cargo tracking website, Zauba, shows that the Samsung SM-G5700 was shipped to India over the weekend to two separate ports. These shipments are not yet for retail and for now they confirm only that the phone is undergoing R&D and testing in a bid to evaluate the device.
The model number Sm-G5700 has a high possibility of being the next Galaxy On5 given that the predecessor was numbered SM-G5500. Further based on the shipping data, there is the probability of there being two distinct devices since there is a stark difference in the per unit valuation of each shipment.
On 23rd June, the first shipment of 3 devices reached Delhi Air Cargo Terminal with a per unit valuation of INR 10,310 (USD 152). The second batch of 11 Galaxy On5’s priced at INR 17,183 (USD 253) reached Bangalore Air Cargo Terminal on the 24th of June.
While the pricing does differ and hints at the probability of two different offerings, for now, the price is just an indicator for shipping purposes and does not represent a retail value nor a manufacturing cost of the Galaxy On5.
Let us know if the Galaxy On5 would be an interesting budget device you would consider, based on the previous offering.
