Redmi Note 7

After launching the Redmi Note 7 series in India in March, Xiaomi has now launched the Redmi Note 7S in India. It is the second handset from Xiaomi to launch in India with a 48MP rear camera.

In terms of specs, the Redmi Note 7S is exactly the same as the Redmi Note 7 barring the change in its primary rear camera. This means it sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ resolution display, Gorilla Glass 5 panels at the front and rear, a Snapdragon 660 chipset running at 2.2GHz, USB-C with fast charging support, 4,000mAh battery, and a 13MP selfie shooter. The rear camera now comprises of a 48MP f/2.2 primary shooter and a 5MP depth sensor.

The 48MP Redmi Note 7S will be available in two different storage and RAM configurations: 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The base variant is priced at Rs 10,999 while the 4GB RAM is priced at Rs 12,999. The handset is available in Ruby Red, Onyx Black, and Sapphire Blue colors. It goes on sale from May 23 on Mi.com and Flipkart. It will also be making its way to Mi Home and retail stores over the next few weeks.

It is strange to see Xiaomi launch the Redmi Note 7S and replace the Redmi Note 7 with it. The latter was launched in India around two months ago and has done exceedingly well. The Redmi Note 7 series shipment has crossed over 2 million units for Xiaomi which is a testament to their popularity. Despite the Redmi Note 7 being discontinued, Xiaomi will continue to roll out software updates for it.
