In early January of this year, Razer officially unveiled the Forge set-top box, which runs Android TV.
When Razer unveiled the set-top box, they did so with minimal fanfare, but managed to showcase a box with plenty of internal specs to get any Android TV enthusiasts excited for its arrival. Now, by way of Talk Android, Amazon has green-lit pre-orders for the set-top box with prices starting at $149. That means the Razer Forge will come with the controller, too, which is a nice bonus.
Razer has discussed selling the Forge sans a controller for $99, but that’s not up for pre-order at the moment.
As far as specifications go, the Razer Forge boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, with Adreno 420 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM with 16GB of built-in storage, and a single USB 3.0 port. There’s an Ethernet port, too, along with Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi support.
