When the Xperia Z3 initially launched, it did so without a purple variant, a color scheme that had seemingly become popular with Sony over the last several smartphone launches.
While the color options for the Xperia Z3 weren’t awful at launch, for those wanting to get their hands on a purple option were left wanting. That could be changing soon, though, according to a leaked image initially posted to Chinese site ePrice [translated]. According to the report that followed suit, the purple-clad Xperia Z3 will be exactly the same as the current Z3 lineup available, save for the purple back cover. The front of the handset will be black, according to the leaked images.
As far as a release date goes, while nothing is official at this point, it is believed that Sony could be preparing the smartphone for a launch around the Lunar New Year, which means it could see availability around February 19.
