On April 22, Google officially announced Project Fi, a large-scale MVNO that also connects automatically to millions of available Wi-Fi hotspots to always aim for the best possible connection.

Not too long after, the official Project Fi app landed in the Google Play Store, and, eventually, folks began receiving their invites to join up with the MVNO. Now that more people have access to it, a few key details are beginning to find their way out into the real world. That includes a one-time replacement option for the Project Fi’s only supported device, the Nexus 6.

It’s been revealed that Project Fi will replace an accidentally broken Nexus 6 for one time, within the first year, for only $100. A Project Fi customer only has to call up the carrier’s support line, or email them or even use the chat service to ask for the $100 replacement. It’s also worth noting that to get the chance to replace it in this way, you’ll have to have bought the Nexus 6 from the Project Fi setup process.

Customers only get one shot at this, though. If they break their Nexus 6 again, they’ll have to pay the full price for the handset to get it replaced.

It’s a limited offer, to be sure, but it’s certainly better than nothing.
