Popular screen filter app f.lux has now made its way to the Google Play Store. The popular screen filter app for desktops automatically tweaks the temperature and brightness of the display depending on the time and location to reduce strain on your eyes.
It has already been scientifically proven that blue light emitted from smartphone display’s can hamper one’s quality of sleep and put more strain on eyes.
The developers behind f.lux say that the app will work on most of the rooted Lollipop and Marshmallow devices and on some rooted KitKat devices. They do, however, note that most Samsung Galaxy devices running Lollipop do not work properly with f.lux.
Other issues currently present in the app as noted by developers include:
– Your screen will flash anytime an app is updated through Google Play
– Some apps will make f.lux turn off (this is an attempt to accommodate DRM apps like Netflix, but it happens too much, and a fix is in the works).
f.lux for Android is currently in beta, so expect the developers to solve most of the issues with the app with regular updates over the next few weeks and months.
