Pixel 2 XL

When Google demoed the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL at its Made by Google event earlier this month, it also showed off the new Pixel launcher on these handsets in all its glory. The redesigned Pixel launcher moved the Google Search bar to the bottom of the device for easier accessibility and introduced a new calendar/clock widget at the top of the screen. While Google might have intended to keep this new Pixel launcher exclusive to the Pixel 2, the developers over at XDA felt otherwise.

The new Pixel launcher APK has already been extracted from the Pixel 2 and has been made available to download for all Android devices. The extracted APK should work on all Android devices running Lollipop or higher and has already been confirmed to work just fine on latest flagship devices like the Galaxy Note 8, LG V30, and Galaxy S8.

Apart from the new layout for the home screen, the Pixel 2 launcher also includes new physics-based animations as shown in the GIF below.

If you are looking to install the Pixel 2 launcher on your Android device, simply grab its APK from here and sideload it like you would any other app. If you are using a Pixel or the original Pixel launcher, the updated launcher will install on top of it just fine. And if your device is rooted, you can use this handy Magisk module to get some of the new live wallpapers from the Pixel 2 on your existing device.
