When it comes to smartwatches, the round case is starting to pick up steam, thanks to Motorola and the Moto 360.
Pebble is looking to jump on the bandwagon, though, as it has officially announced the Pebble Time Round. As the name so aptly suggests, this smartwatch boasts a circular case, but it is still very much a Pebble. The Pebble Time Round still has the company’s proprietary interface on there, and it’s still visible with a color e-ink display.
The round case will be available in either rose gold, black or silver, and the bands are available in either 14mm or 22mm sizes.
The new Time Round is slimmer and thinner than its other Pebble smartwatch brethren, and that comes at the stake of battery life. Pebble states that the Time Round can get up to two days of battery life, versus the five to seven days its other Pebble-branded wearables can get. The Time Round can be charged to add 24 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes, though.
Pre-orders kick off on Pebble.com beginning today (as well as through BestBuy.com, Target.com, and Amazon.com), September 23, and the company says that shipments will begin sometime in November. As far as pricing goes, the leather band option costs $249, while the metal strap hikes the price up to $299.
