OnePlus has been on a roll ever since the release of the OnePlus 5 late last month. The company has been releasing new builds of OxygenOS for the handset almost on a weekly basis to squash bugs and refine existing features. Today, the company has started rolling out OxygenOS 4.5.5 for the handset that aims to further improve the Wi-Fi connectivity on the device and fix a few other bugs.

Among other things, OnePlus notes that the 5 should now consume less battery while recording videos. The voice call clarity should now also be improved, with the vibration intensity of incoming calls tweaked to make it gentler.

The full changelog of the update is as follows:

Optimizations:

  • Further improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Clearer voice calling
  • Video recording now consumes less battery
  • Vibration intensity when receiving calls is now tuned to a gentler level

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed Wi-Fi signal consistently being displayed as weak
  • Fixed certain apps not able to work under IPv6 network settings
  • To restore connectivity to a Windows 10 PC, please turn off USB debugging prior to the upgrade

Unlike the previous OTA updates, this update does not contain any camera related improvements. Nonetheless, it does fix some of the most commonly reported bugs of the handset.

The OTA update is being rolled out in incremental stages so it will first be available to a small number of OnePlus 5 owners, with a wider rollout scheduled for later this week.

How satisfied are you with your OnePlus 5 so far? Have you noticed these software updates from OnePlus actually making a difference?
