Oppo today launched its second handset in its F lineup of smartphones — the Oppo F1 Plus. The selfie focused smartphone comes with a “Hi-light camera”, which the company claims is up to four times more sensitive, has twice the dynamic range, and captures four times less noise than traditional smartphone cameras.

The F1 Plus features a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display on its front, with a mere 1.6mm thin side bezels. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 chipset. It also comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB of storage space, and a microSD card slot. On the connectivity front, the F1 Plus features LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and a microUSB port. Like other handsets from Oppo, the F1 Plus supports VOOC Flash Charge that can charge the 2,850mAh battery to 75% in only 30 minutes.

The metal unibody design of the handset is clearly reminiscent of the iPhone 6s, right down to the home button in the front featuring an integrated fingerprint scanner.

The highlight of the phone is its “Hi-light” camera located at the front. The 16MP f/2.0 shooter has been optimised to take better selfies, irrespective of the lighting conditions. The 13MP rear camera also comes with an F/2.0 aperture and is aided by an LED flash.

Running on Oppo’s Color OS 3.0, the F1 Plus packs in speed improvements of up to 25%, and features like Beautify 4.0. The skin is still based on Android 5.1 Lollipop though.

The Oppo F1 was unveiled in India today for Rs. 26, 990, but Oppo plans on launching the phone in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa later this month. The handset will also be making its way to Europe from next month.
